Meet the inspiration for Dmadisonsplace, Dolly Madison, my Weimaraner, born February 2004, nicknamed after Dolly Payne, also called (1790 - 1793) Dolly Todd, and sometimes spelled Dolly. Dolly Madison was the American First Lady (1809 - 1817) wife of James Madison, the fourth President of the United States. Raised in the plain style of her Quaker family, and renowned for her charm, warmth, and ingenuity Dolly Madison set many precedents-quickly becoming enormously popular and much imitated by others.
The items you see reflected on these pages have been created in a similar fashion as the "original" Dolly Madison and are quickly becoming as popular as she. Not unlike her namesake, my Dolly Madison provides the inspiration for the unique style in all of the handcrafts I create.
